Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech: Modern Industry with Responsibility Toward the Region and the Future
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) has ranked among the most important industrial companies in the Czech Republic for nearly two decades. Since the start of mass production in 2008, the Nošovice plant has become a key part of Hyundai’s European production network and has made a significant contribution to the development of the Moravian-Silesian Region. In addition to its economic contribution, the company also focuses on technological innovation, environmentally responsible production, and support for regional communities.
One of the Region’s Most Important Employers
HMMC currently employs approximately 2,800 people. Together with its linked supplier companies, it helps create roughly 16,000 jobs, placing the company among the most important employers in the Moravian-Silesian Region and among the key partners of the local economy.
Since the decision to build the plant in 2006, Hyundai has invested more than EUR 2.11 billion in its operations in the Czech Republic. These funds have gone not only into constructing the manufacturing site, but also into its ongoing modernization, the introduction of new technologies, and preparations for the transition to electromobility. HMMC has also long ranked among significant corporate income taxpayers, thereby contributing to public budgets.
An important pillar of the plant’s success is also its care for employees. In 2025, the average gross monthly wage for blue-collar positions reached CZK 58,767, confirming the company’s effort to offer stable and competitive working conditions.
Hyundai has long supported technical education and cooperates with secondary schools and universities in preparing future specialists for the automotive industry. Since 2008, the company has provided schools with 159 vehicles, engines, transmissions, and other components intended for practical instruction. It also supports education in automation, robotics, and electromobility, and offers students professional excursions, grant programs, and long-term internships through which they gain valuable hands-on experience during their studies.
Modern Manufacturing Prepared for the Future
The Nošovice plant is one of the most technologically advanced automotive factories in Europe. Since production began in 2008, millions of vehicles intended for customers all over the world have been built here. At the beginning of 2026, the five-millionth car rolled off the production line, confirming HMMC’s significant role within Hyundai’s manufacturing network.

The production portfolio has changed significantly in recent years toward low-emission mobility. Until 2019, the plant produced only internal combustion engine vehicles. Production of the KONA Electric began in March 2020, and today electrified models, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, account for approximately half of total production.
A fundamental shift has also taken place in HMMC’s involvement in the development of new models. While in the past the plant joined the development process only in the final testing phases, today it cooperates with development teams already at the stage of design proposals and actively influences manufacturing solutions even before mass production begins.
During the development of the second generation of the KONA Electric, HMMC contributed approximately half of the final manufacturing solution; for upcoming models, this share already exceeds 70%. Preparations also include digital twins of production lines—that is, detailed 3D process models that enable more efficient planning, testing, and deployment of new technologies. HMMC is therefore gradually strengthening its role not only as a manufacturing plant, but also as an important partner in the development and industrialization of vehicles for the European market.
At the same time, production relies on a high degree of automation and robotization. More than 550 industrial robots ensure precision, safety, and process efficiency, especially in the body shop and paint shop.

A Responsible Approach to the Environment
Environmental responsibility is an integral part of the company’s operations. HMMC became the first manufacturing plant within the Hyundai Motor Group to use electricity sourced from 100% renewable energy.
The company continues to invest in the modernization and sustainability of production. At the beginning of 2026, construction of a photovoltaic power plant with a maximum output of 5 MWp was completed, covering approximately 5% of the plant’s annual electricity consumption. Panels were installed on the roofs of production halls with a total area of nearly 60,000 m². At the same time, preparations are underway for a further capacity expansion of approximately 8 MWp.

The environmental strategy also includes projects focused on reducing water consumption, efficient waste management, material recycling, and increasing the energy efficiency of manufacturing processes.
Corporate Social Responsibility as Part of Company Culture
Hyundai has long supported regional development through grant programs focused on education, social issues, culture, sport, and environmental protection.
In 2025, the company supported 167 projects through six grant programs, with total support reaching nearly CZK 2.44 million. In addition to financial assistance, employees also regularly take part in a range of activities through volunteering.
